PIDA provides $2 million to bring new business to Erie County

The Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority (PIDA) today (September 3) awarded a $2 million loan to assist a Minnesota-based snack food company in purchasing and renovating a site in Erie County, according to state Senator Scott Hutchinson.

“I am pleased and excited that KLN has chosen to invest in Northwestern Pennsylvania and create jobs in our community,” said Senator Hutchinson.

Barrel O’ Fun Snack Foods Co. will apply the state money toward the anticipated $5.7 million cost for a 163,000 square foot building on an 8.34 acre parcel on Route 97 South in Waterford Township. The company plans to establish 87 new jobs within three years, according to the application submitted by the Greater Erie Industrial Development Corporation to PIDA for the funding.
