Butler County, Regional Police Receive $18,760 in State Grants

Butler County and the new Evans City/Seven Fields Regional Police Department were awarded state grants totaling $18,760, according to Senator Scott E. Hutchinson.

The grants are among 11 projects awarded funding through the Municipal Assistance Program by the state Department of Economic and Community Development.

Butler County received $14,000 to pay for the preparation of an updated comprehensive plan that includes guidelines for county assistance to municipalities on land use issues. In addition, the plan will also address opportunities and impacts of natural gas development.

The Evans City/Seven Fields Regional Police Department received $4,760 to pay for start-up costs of merging the two police departments.
