PA Guard Incentive Program Enhanced

In July, Act 30 of 2026 was signed into law, expanding Pennsylvania’s National Guard Medical and Health Officer Incentive Program. I was honored to sponsor the original legislation that established this successful program in 2014, and I am pleased to see it enhanced to serve even more of the skilled professionals our Guard depends on.

The new law extends eligibility to additional specialty officers, including Judge Advocate General officers and chaplains, and establishes annual educational stipends based on each individual’s level of professional education.

Act 30 closely mirrors Senate Bill 308, which I introduced earlier this session, and which passed the Senate unanimously. This important expansion will strengthen the Pennsylvania National Guard’s ability to recruit and retain highly trained professionals.
