Senator Scott Hutchinson talked with state Agriculture Secretary George Greig and residents of the 21st District who were exhibiting their crafts and livestock at the 97th Pennsylvania Farm Show during his recent visit to the state’s premier agricultural showcase event.
The eight-day show at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center featured 6,000 animals, 10,000 competitive exhibits and 300 commercial exhibitors. Billed as the largest indoor agricultural event in the country, an estimated 400,000 people attended this year’s edition.
“Agriculture is a vital industry in the state and especially in Western Pennsylvania. The Farm Show provides a special opportunity for families to exhibit their livestock, produce and other products, while allowing all Pennsylvanians to learn more about agriculture while enjoying some of the finest food and entertainment our state has to offer,” Senator Hutchinson said.
