Slippery Rock Creek Watershed work receives $204,000 state grant

Stream Restoration Inc. recently received a $204,000 grant from the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) for water quality improvements, sampling and analysis of the Slippery Rock Creek Watershed in Venango, Brady and Marion townships of Butler County, according to Senator Scott Hutchinson.

“It’s always gratifying to see local efforts to improve our watersheds receive state support,” said Senator Hutchinson, who serves as Chairman of the Joint Legislative Air and Water Pollution Control and Conservation Committee. “These projects, such as this one involving the Slippery Rock Creek, improve the quality of life in our communities and protect the environment for future generations.”

The CFA was established as an independent agency of the Commonwealth to administer Pennsylvania’s economic stimulus packages. The CFA holds fiduciary responsibility over the funding of programs and investments in Pennsylvania’s economic growth.
