Butler Township receives $15,000 state grant

Butler Township was recently awarded a $15,000 state grant from the Department of Community and Economic Development to support the recent merger of three local fire companies, according to Senator Scott Hutchinson.

The Municipal Assistance Program funds will be used to help offset the costs incurred through the merger of the Meridian Community, Greenwood Village and Lyndora Volunteer Fire Companies into a single Butler Township Volunteer Fire District.

The merger will reduce overall costs and aid in sustaining emergency services in the community.
