State Senator Scott Hutchinson was appointed by Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati to serve as Chairman of the Senate Communications and Technology Committee for the remainder of the 2013-14 Legislative Session.
All new legislation related to communication and/or technology issues must be considered and approved by the committee before it can be taken up by the full Senate for consideration.
“I would like to thank Senator Scarnati for this assignment,” said Senator Hutchinson. “With the constant changes and new developments in communications and technology it is essential to constantly review and update Pennsylvania’s laws regarding those areas. I am always looking for ways to improve the efficiency of state programs and services and that is certainly an area that falls under the purview of Communications and Technology Committee.”
Senator Hutchinson will also serve as Vice Chairman of the Finance Committee and a member of the Environmental Resources and Energy, Local Government, Public Health & Welfare and Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness committees.
