ERIE COUNTY MANUFACTURING FACILITY RECEIVES $725,000 STATE GRANT

Senator Hutchinson applauded the announcement by Governor Corbett of a $725,000 Economic Growth Initiative grant to assist in constructing a water treatment facility on the site of the former Troyer potato chip factory.

The Waterford Township facility was recently purchased by Barrel O’ Fun, a subsidiary of Minnesota-based KLN Family Brands, and is undergoing extensive renovations.  The plant is expected create at least 87 new, full-time jobs in its first year of operation.

“I am pleased and excited that KLN has chosen to invest in Northwestern Pennsylvania and create jobs in our community,” said Senator Hutchinson.  “This pledge of state funding shows the Corbett Administration’s commitment to revitalizing our region’s manufacturing base.”
