Warren County Conservation District Receives State Grant

The Warren County Conservation District will receive a Growing Greener grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection in the amount of $164,464 for the rehabilitation of Dutchman Run, according to Senator Scott Hutchinson.

“It’s always gratifying to see local efforts to improve our watersheds receive state support,” said Senator Hutchinson, who serves as Chairman of the Joint Legislative Air and Water Pollution Control and Conservation Committee. “These projects, such as this one involving Dutchman Run, improve the quality of life in our communities and protect the environment for future generations.”

The local grant is part of more than $23.2 million awarded for 109 projects statewide in the current round of funding by the Department of Environmental for projects to improve watersheds, reduce stormwater runoff and acid mine drainage (AMD), and support educational programs, among other environmental efforts.
