Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati today appointed Senator Scott E. Hutchinson to serve as Chairman of the Senate Local Government Committee for the 2015-16 Legislative Session.
“I am looking forward to working with this committee on legislation that truly has an impact on the lives citizens across Pennsylvania,” Senator Hutchinson said. “We sometimes view Pennsylvania as one big government entity, but we must never forget that our Commonwealth is a diverse state made up of more than 2,500 separate municipalities, each with its own specific local assets, issues and concerns. It is essential that the state work in partnership with our local governments to develop and enact legislation that strengthens our communities and enhances the quality of life of their citizens.”
Senator Hutchinson was also serves as Vice Chairman of the Finance Committee and a member of the Environmental Resources & Energy Committee, Public Health & Welfare Committee, and the Veterans Affairs & Emergency Preparedness Committee.
