Senator Scott Hutchinson will discuss his bill now before the Senate that would protect conventional drilling operations from job-killing state regulations during a PCN “On the Issues” show on “Natural Gas Drilling Rules” set for 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10.
Senator Hutchinson is the prime sponsor of Senate Bill 1011, legislation that would spare Pennsylvania’s conventional oil and gas well operations from the Administration’s onerous new regulations intended for Marcellus Shale gas extraction operators.
“Unfortunately there are some in the rule making process who are unable, or unwilling, to recognize the vast differences between the conventional and unconventional drilling industries,” said Senator Hutchinson. “Instead, they have embarked on a course to write new regulations for the 150 year-old conventional industry that are simply not workable and will truly be a death knell for the industry.”
