21st Senate District Counties/Municipalities Receive $1.8M in CDBG Funding

The state Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED) recently announced that counties and municipalities in the 21st Senatorial District will receive Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding totaling $1,853,858, according to Senator Scott Hutchinson.

CDBG funding, which is administered by the DCED, supports projects such as housing rehabilitation, pubic services, community facilities, infrastructure improvement, development and planning in low- and moderate-income areas.

Butler County was awarded $325,142 as well as an additional $373,363 for the following communities: Jefferson Township, $95,280; Penn Township, $91,718; Slippery Rock Township, $96,185; and Summit Township, $90,180.

Clarion County was awarded $225,691 as well as an additional $177,267 for the following communities: Clarion Borough, $93,405; and Clarion Township, $83,862.

Forest County was awarded $206,479.

The City of Franklin, Venango County, was awarded $272,958. The City of Oil City, Venango County, was also awarded $272,958.

In addition to the CDBG funding, Butler County was also awarded a $40,000 Emergency Solutions Grant by the DCED.
