Senator Scott Hutchinson issued the following statement on House Bill 542, which amends the Tax Reform Code as part of the Fiscal Year 2017-18 budget package. The measure was narrowly approved by the Senate 26-24 today (July 27), with Senator Hutchinson voting in the negative.
“Rather than spending more of the people’s hard-earned money, we should be living within our means. I think it is shortsighted to reach deeper into the taxpayers’ pockets, particularly on energy consumers and natural gas producers who already pay high taxes.”
