Venango, Warren Projects Share $405,400 in State Grants

Municipalities in Venango and Warren counties will share $405,400 in Community Parks, Small Community and Partnership grants from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, according to Senator Scott Hutchinson.

Emlenton Borough, Venango County, will receive $70,400 for the rehabilitation of Hughes Park. The project includes renovation of a comfort station, construction of a parking area and pedestrian walkways, ADA access, landscaping and other related site improvements.

The City of Franklin was awarded $260,000 for the rehabilitation of Miller-Sibley Park in Sugarcreek Borough, Venango County.  The work includes renovation of a parking area, pedestrian walkways, basketball and tennis courts, installation of lighting and fencing, ADA access, landscaping and other related site improvements.

 The City of Warren City, Warren County, will receive $75,000 for the rehabilitation of Beaty Park, including installation of play equipment with required safety surfacing, ADA access, landscaping and other related site improvements.

“These grants represent a sizeable investment by the state in the development and improvements of these parks,” Senator Hutchinson said. “These improved recreational facilities will provide new opportunities and improve the quality of life for everyone in these communities.”
