The Senate Finance Committee approved two bills today (May 11), according to Committee Chairman Senator Scott Hutchinson (R-21).
Senate Bill 279, introduced by Senator Pat Stefano, amends the Tax Reform Code to exempt firefighters from the sales and use tax when purchasing protective equipment and accessory communications equipment while using their own personal funds.
Senate Bill 568, introduced by Senator David Argall, addresses the collection of sales taxes on traffic signal foundations, poles and mast arms.
