HARRISBURG – Sen. Scott Hutchinson (R-21) today issued a statement regarding the passage of a state budget bill by the Pennsylvania Senate:
“Although this is a time of divided government in Harrisburg, I am pleased with the responsible and sustainable spending plan which the Senate put together in conjunction with Gov. Josh Shapiro. It includes record levels of basic education funding and sets aside $500 million in the Rainy Day Fund. Not only are there no tax increases, the historic, job-creating tax phase-downs continue, and the budget also expands eligibility and increases rebates to seniors citizens in the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program. I remain hopeful the House of Representatives will promptly pass this prudent budget bill.”
